Just weeks after winning his sixth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet, Nick Schulman continued his winter hot streak by taking down a $10,100 High Roller tournament at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas for $283,050. Fittingly enough, it brings Schulman his sixth PokerGO Tour (PGT) title.
The event, which drew 111 entrants, kicked off the PGT Last Chance series running through Jan. 9. Schulman, who is just as comfortable on the PokerGO felt as he is in the commentary booth, defeated Brazil's Joao Simao in heads-up play and navigated a final table that included Victoria Livschitz (3rd - $127,650), Bryce Yockey (4th - $99,900) and Aram Zobian (7th - $44,400).

Schulman Comes Back After Bluffing Into Nuts
Simao and Schulman dueled early at the final table. In a heads-up pot, Simao rivered the nuts and bet before facing a big check-raise from Schulman with a blocker bluff to double up the Brazilian.

Despite losing most of his stack with the bold play, Schulman stuck around and eventually overcame Simao's chip lead by doubling up twice, according to PokerGO updates.
The two battled back and forth before Simao eventually shoved a dwindling stack with jack-deuce only to be pipped by Schulman's jack-seven.

Furthering Poker Hall of Fame Case
Schulman is coming off a red-hot year in 2024 that first saw him winning his fifth bracelet this summer in the $25,000 High Roller for $1.7 million.
He then closed out the year by winning a sixth bracelet in the $5,000 The Closer at WSOP Paradise for $145,000 after getting through a powerhouse final table of 20 bracelets that included Daniel Negreanu and Shaun Deeb.

The year before, Schulman won his fourth bracelet that produced one of the most epic winner's photos of all time.
The poker commentator and high-stakes pro continues to make the case for being a first-ballot Hall of Famer, though he has some steep competition against reigning WSOP Player of the Year and seven-time bracelet winner Scott Seiver.
Schulman gave PokerNewshis thoughts on the Poker Hall of Fame in the Bahamas after winning his sixth bracelet. Hall of Famer Negreanu weighed in on the matter on X: "Nick Schulman checks all the boxes for induction (as do many others) and if I had to bet it right now, I bet he gets in this summer."
